Will plays in the front row as a tighthead prop. Known for his strong scrummaging, extremely high fitness levels and big hits in defence Will is a formidable member of the squad.
He has played a lot of rugby in Yorkshire. He is a product of the Queen Ethelburga’s rugby programme and has since played for Harrogate, Hull Ionians and Rotherham before joining Leeds Tykes.
Will comes from a farming background. In the last few years the farm was transformed into a wedding venue, The Oakwood at Ryther Will combines working in the business with playing for Leeds Tykes.
Will was awarded the Coaches’ Player of the 2025/26 Season. When announcing Will as the winner, Pete Lucock, Head Coach said: “We hadn’t had a lot out of Will for the previous two seasons. When he was in the team you knew exactly what he offered – he was a level above National League 2. Coming into this year, we got a lot more of him. We relied on him. He’s worked hard. His temper could sometimes come out the wrong way, but it came from caring. He definitely drives standards in the group. “
2025/26 Coaches’ Player of the Season
Will Dennis was Leeds Tykes Player of the Match against Rotherham Titans at our annual match at AMT Headingley Rugby Stadium in December 2025. The POTM is sponsored by Horsforth Brewery and was presented by Mark Puleikis, CEO Titan Wealth.
Will said: “It’s nice to be rewarded for my performance on the pitch. Any of us could have been Man of the Match today. I don’t think there was one lad who had a bad game. Rotherham really came for us as we knew they would. It’s nice to have them here where there is such a heritage of playing against them at Headingley and it’s nice to come out on top.”
Will was named in The Rugby Paper’s National 2 North dream team for the 2023/24 season.
