World Down Syndrome Day
For this week’s match, we are teaming with Sunshine and Smiles, Leeds Down syndrome network. Sunshine & Smiles families have been invited as guests of the club.
It’s World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) on Thursday 21 March
Please join us in wearing odd socks – the odder and more colourful the better.
Why odd socks for WDSD? Because people with Down syndrome have an extra chromosome (they have 3 copies of chromosome 21 – hence WDSD being 21 March). Under a microscope, the extra chromosome looks like a sock.
